Ancient Central / Northern Europe, Celtic Iron Age, La Tene (sometimes called Celtic) culture, ca. 500 BCE to 1 BCE. A fantastic example of elegant weaponry from the Celtic Iron Age. This forged-iron short sword fragment features a sturdy construction made from high-quality iron, and a trifurcated midrib running the length of both sides until terminating at the pointed tip. Though fragmentary, one can only imagine what the rest of this sword would have looked like both upon completion and in the hands of an imposing adversary. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 1.3" W x 8.25" H (3.3 cm x 21 cm); 9.75" H (24.8 cm) on included custom stand.
