Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, Villa Ahumada type, ca. 1350 to 1450 CE. A hand-built pottery jar of spherical form with a stable base, a bulging midsection, and a thick, flared rim, all with smooth, stone-burnished surfaces. The beige-ground vessel features an elaborate series of abstract linear, curvilinear, triangular, and latticework motifs in black and red pigment that dazzles the eye and captures the imagination. Size: 7.36" Diameter x 5.5" H (18.7 cm x 14 cm)
