Description:

Pre-Columbian, Chihuahua Mexico, Casas Grandes/Mogollon, Ramos Style ca. 1060 to 1450 CE. An attractive pair of pottery vessels: a wedding vase and a bowl. First, the wedding vase is comprised of twin round-bottomed ollas with slanted shoulders connected by an arched, ribbon-form handle at their flared rims and a tubular passage at their wide hips. Their exteriors are adorned with black and red painted decoration as well as an incised abstract designs. More petite of the 2, the bowl boasts a hemispherical body with a horizontal row of protruding spikes lining the exterior rim, all enveloped in a rich black slip.   • Condition: Wedding vase has been professionally repaired with restoration and repainting over break lines. Two small chips to rim of bowl. Both have expected nicks and abrasions, as expected with age. Otherwise, bowl is intact, and both are excellent with great pigments.
