Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, Ramos Polychrome type, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A round-bottomed pottery vessel of sizable form with a protruding midsection beneath a tapered shoulder and a slightly everted rim. The beige-hued exterior is adorned with hand-painted linear, geometric, and abstract motifs in hues of black and red consistent with the Ramos Polychrome style. Size: 10.38" Diameter x 8.625" H (26.4 cm x 21.9 cm)

Provenance: ex-private USA collection, acquired before 2000 from noted dealer Robert Anderson, Mason City, Iowa, USA; all items from this collection have been appraised by Marianne Huber in 2014
