Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes, ca. 1150 to 1450 CE. A Ramos Polychrome vessel with curvilinear and grid patterns divided by diagonal lines. The vessel is slipped in cream and the busy patterns are rendered mainly black with a few red highlights. Size: 6.5" Diameter x 7.25" H (16.5 cm x 18.4 cm)

Provenance: ex-private USA collection, acquired before 2000 from noted dealer Robert Anderson, Mason City, Iowa, USA; all items from this collection have been appraised by Marianne Huber in 2014

  • Condition: Outturned rim lip is restored with new material around half of the opening. Restoration is well done and nearly indiscernible. The rest of the vessel is intact with root marks on the interior and manganese deposits.
