Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A sizable pottery jar exhibiting a hemispherical lower body, a tapered upper body, and a thick rim, all covered in a beige-hued ground. The upper body is densely decorated with thin black stripes, geometric panels of solid red pigment, and abstract forms that perhaps represent skulls or the nose and eyes of a boar. Size: 9.64" Diameter x 8.2" H (24.5 cm x 20.8 cm)
