Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A fine hand-built and highly-burnished pottery bowl with a flat base, rounded walls, a thick rim, and a shallow basin colored with a pale cream slip. The exterior of the vessel is decorated with intricate linear and geometric motifs in white and orange hues which are accentuated against the dark-red ground upon which they are presented. Size: 7.625" W x 2.6" H (19.4 cm x 6.6 cm).
