Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, ca. 500 BCE. A lovely standing "Pretty Lady" with a pregnant belly, voluptuous breasts, and delineated genitalia. Her visage is quite expressive with large diamond-shaped applied eyes and an open mouth perhaps indicating that she is engaged in song or prayer. She appears nude, though highly decorated with a large pair of round ear ornaments, headband, and elaborate necklace, all with incised striations, the earrings and necklace with added red cinnabar.
