East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. This is a beautiful earthenware vessel, with a broad and stable flat base, cylindrical body, and outward flared rim. A strap handle connects the rim to the body - perhaps serving as a large, oversized cup or serving bowl. A light green glaze covers the exterior and interior basin of the vessel, with areas of rainbow iridescence. Size: 6.75" W x 3.5" H (17.1 cm x 8.9 cm)
