West-Central Asia, Bactrian Empire, ca. early 1st millennium BCE. A lovely necklace comprised of 41 carnelian beads in every shade of red and gold under the sun. Different sizes and shapes, though most are rounded, with red glass see beads as spacers. Makes for a stunning and wearable piece of ancient art! Size: 19" L (48.3 cm); largest bead measures .875" in diameter (2.2 cm)
