Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 2100 to 1600 BCE. A hand-carved stone stamp seal of a smooth style exhibiting mottled green and dark brown hues. The stamp face is incised with a right-facing elephant with massive hooves, a bushy-tipped tail, and a bulky body. The head features a single incised ear, a petite eye beneath a rounded brow, and a lengthy trunk in front of an open mouth. An integral ring handle protrudes from the verso, enabling its owner to easily maneuver the stamp. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.875" L x 1.625" W (4.8 cm x 4.1 cm)
