Description:

Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. An gorgeous and wearable necklace of an uncomplicated form composed of 216 petite lapis lazuli seed beads and 46 brass spacer beads, with a teardrop-shaped pendant hanging from the bottom of a central drooping element. The middle of each lapis bead has a small perforation for suspension. The beads are strung on modern resin-coated thread, and the strands are capped with a modern brass tab clasp and box clasp. Size (necklace): 22.5" L (57.2 cm); size (pendant): 0.4" H (1 cm).
