Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1100 to 1532 CE. This vibrant polychromatic textile sash section is comprised of tightly-woven camelid (alpaca) fibers in red, pink, teal, green, blue, cream, gold, and black hues. The composition includes several areas of abstract geometric motifs, some having only one color while others display multiple hues. Mounted on a fabric-lined cardboard backing. Size: 17.25" L x 3.8" W (43.8 cm x 9.7 cm), both at its longest and widest point.

Provenance: private Slavin collection, acquired in Peru and Bolivia from 1971 to 1972
