Description:

Western Greece, Archaic Period, ca. 6th to 5th century BCE. A lovely terracotta maskette of a woman, possibly a goddess, with almond-shaped eyes, a petite nose, a prominent chin, full lips, and flowing locks of hair draped across her brow. A hair band or diadem sits atop her head, and would have been a fashionable accessory for women during this time period. Size: 1.8" H (4.6 cm); 4.125" H (10.5 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Swiss collection of F.H.; ex-private W. Rosenbaum collection, Ascona, Switzerland, acquired before 1984
