Ancient Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang culture, ca. late 1st millennium BCE. A hand-built pottery vessel with a bulbous foot and a tapered, apple-shaped body with a flared rim. Decorating the beige-ground vessel are dozens of slender red-orange stripes that create broad, parallel designs reminiscent of flowers or other abstract phytomorphic forms. Size: 9.55" Diameter x 10.25" H (24.3 cm x 26 cm)
