A stunning 14K gold ring with an inset round carnelian intaglio depicting the head of Pan, the beloved half man, half goat horned god known for his hunting skills, in profile with horns emerging from his head, the bright orange carnelian stone surrounded by a plain gold band which in turn is surrounded by a stylized rope patterned gold border. A wonderful piece of wearable art from ancient Rome! US ring size 2.25; Weight: 8 grams Size: .875" W x 2.75" H (2.2 cm x 7 cm); intaglio measures .375" in diameter (1 cm)

  • Condition: Some white caliche (mineral deposits) over the carnelian intaglio, but imagery is still legible. A tiny gap in the rope border that may have been there originally. Slight bending and wear to the shank.
