Description:

Ancient Near East, Northern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan / Amlash, Iron Age, ca. 11th to 7th century BCE. This cast copper javelin or spear point features straight wings, a slightly raised central ridge, and a slender tang for attachment to a handle. In the early first millennium BCE, various cultures in the Transcaucasia region and northwestern Iran used weapons like this, and despite stylistic differences, this tanged style remained in limited use even after socketed bronze heads became more common.
