Description:

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A cast-bronze short sword bearing a recessed handle meant to hold comfortable inlays. The blade itself exhibits an elongated profile with a thick midrib and a dramatically pointed tip, and the shoulder is adorned with a raised crescent moon on each side. Layers of naturally-occurring patina in hues of brown and green have formed across the surfaces and lend to its alluring presentation. Size: 15.125" L x 2.1" W (38.4 cm x 5.3 cm)
