Description:

Central Europe, Celtic culture, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A fine bracelet composed of 94% to 95% silver with stamped v-shaped motifs adorning the sides of the band. The band ends overlap each other then taper to thin wire terminals twisted into spirals, then wrap around the band, forming a complete circle. Silver was a luxury material that Celtic artisans shaped into curving, geometric shapes for elite members of society. The spirals on this bracelet were a popular motif, symbolic of life cycles and rebirth. A superb piece of wearable and very elegant art! Size: 3.625" W x 3.25" H (9.2 cm x 8.3 cm); quality of silver: 94 to 95%; total weight: 50.6 grams.
