Description:

Ancient Near East / Ancient Mediterranean, Amlash culture, ca. 1000 BCE. A wheel-thrown redware pottery pitcher with a flat base and a perforated handle on the verso. Extending from the front is a lengthy spout, curved and almost beak-like, that would be used for pouring liquids like wine or libations. A lustrous, apricot-hued glaze envelops the entirety of the piece. Size: 12.4" L x 7" W x 7.1" H (31.5 cm x 17.8 cm x 18 cm)

Provenance: private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
