Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Amlash culture, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A hand-built blackware pottery jar with stone-burnished surfaces and a spherical body. The flared rim projecting off the top of the shoulder features a pair of biconically drilled suspension holes to feed through a carrying handle made from rope or cloth. Size: 5" Diameter x 5.25" H (12.7 cm x 13.3 cm)

Provenance: Private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
