Description:

American Southwest, Mogollon region of eastern Arizona, Showlow style, ca. 1325 to 1400 CE. This type of later Anasazi pottery is so named for the town of Showlow near the Mogollon Rim where similar polychrome vessels have been found. Large, colorful polychrome olla in red, black and white with strong geometric pattern at base, white slightly stepped shoulder and rim painted with three black thunderbirds, diagonal hash-marks on rim proper. A strong example of Anasazi pottery from the period when the Anasazi were beginning to vanish from the American landscape. Size: 11.75" W x 11.5" H (29.8 cm x 29.2 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
