Native American, Southwestern United States, Mesa Verde region, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. A hand-built pottery mug of utilitarian form with a planar base and a thick strap handle. The exterior of the vessel is decorated with elaborate bands of varied linear motifs painted in black so as to as stand out. Size: 4.2" L x 3.5" W x 3.8" H (10.7 cm x 8.9 cm x 9.7 cm)
