North America, Southwest Four Corners Area, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1100 to 1200 CE. An attractive black-on-red pottery vessel presenting a rounded olla-like form with a short cylindrical neck, a gently flared rim, and a strap handle on the shoulder. The vessel is decorated with a beautiful stepped motif register framed by two slender linear bands followed by one wide band above and below. A lovely example! Size: 6.125" W x 4.5" H (15.6 cm x 11.4 cm)
