Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A petite pendant shaped from 90% silver depicting Mjolnir, the mighty hammer of the Norse thunder god Thor. The crescent-shaped head and slender handle are of an attractive minimalist design, and a modern suspension loop is riveted to the tip of the handle to enable its wearability. Size (hammer w/o loop): 0.76" W x 0.84" H (1.9 cm x 2.1 cm); (w/ suspension loop): 1.07" H (2.7 cm); silver quality: 90%; total weight: 4.2 grams; (necklace cord): 22" L (55.9 cm)
