Description:

Ancient Southeast Asia, Cambodia, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 800 to 1300 CE. A cast-bronze mirror of a discoid form with a raised rim and a protruding central nodule. The obverse face bears lustrous silvery patina where deep polishing and a reflective surface was at one time. A pair of perforated suspension holes are situated along the periphery just inside of the rim. Bronze objects like this example were signs of prestige and were owned by the wealthy and elite members of ancient Khmer society. Size: 8.3" W (21.1 cm); 17.625" H (44.8 cm) on included custom stand.
