Native American, Southeastern United States, Virginia, Archaic to Woodland period, ca. 8500 BCE to 1800 CE (10500 to 200 BP). A nice collection of 61 hand-knapped stone projectile points all from Virginia. Despite being from the same geographical area, this is a diverse assortment and includes black chert stones and white quartzite. The typology of most of these points are identifiable and some of the included types are: New Market, Hardaway, Orient, Palmer, Morrow Mountain I, Piscataway, Swannanoa, Otarre, Nansemond, Sublet Ferry, Potts, and Randolph. Size of largest point: 1.5" L x .75" W (3.8 cm x 1.9 cm); size of case: 15" L x 1.675" W x 10" H (38.1 cm x 4.3 cm x 25.4 cm)
