Description:

North Africa, Morocco, Devonian period, ca. 419.2 to 358.9 million years ago. A collection of 6 fossilized trilobites possibly in the Phacops genus, prepared with the fossil slightly raised above the rest of the stone matrix. Several have great preservation to the eye facets and one is fully enrolled. Enrolling was the trilobites' method of protection against predators to protect their soft underbellies. Size of matrix: 3" L x 2.5" W x 1.5" H (7.6 cm x 6.4 cm x 3.8 cm); fossil: 1.5" L x 1.2" W (3.8 cm x 3 cm)
