Description:

East Asia, Korea, Silla Kingdom, ca. 5th to 6th century CE. A stunning stoneware jar featuring a voluminous body, a sloped shoulder, a brief, cylindrical neck, and a flared, annular rim, all sitting upon a petite flat base. Boasting a rich hue of taupe and a light sheen, the elegant vessel is adorned with a central horizontal band of an incised undulating motif flanked by two raised rings. A second wavy design decorates the neck, sitting above another raised band, and an incised horizontal striation lines the periphery of the rim. Light horizontal rings decorate the body of the piece, a lovely benefit from being wheel-thrown. Size: 9.5" in diameter x 10.5" H (24.1 cm x 26.7 cm)
