East Asia, China, Song Dynasty, ca. 960 to 1278 CE; Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1644 CE. A wonderful selection of 3 hand-built pottery porcelain bowls with tall walls and squat feet, 2 from the Song Dynasty and 1 from the Ming Dynasty. The first Song bowl is covered in a pale gray-green celadon glaze and features a silhouetted motif of vertical bars and flowers along the exterior surfaces. The larger Song Dynasty bowl has a faded white ground upon which a register of meandering lines and an abstract zoomorph decorate the basin interior. The Ming bowl is of relatively minimalist construction that is covered in a simple yet lustrous white glaze. Size of largest (Song bowl w/ zoomorph): 8.25" W x 3.2" H (21 cm x 8.1 cm)
