Description:

North America, Mexico, made in Taxco, ca. post-1979 CE. A lovely square sterling silver dish with a square base and slightly widening walls that end in a wide rim. A cross, composed of three incised bars on the underside that become relief bars on the exterior walls, radiates outward from a circular inset at the center of the underside. This same cross is visible in tondo and on the interior walls, but is shallower, and the circle is a raised disc. On the underside, within the inset, is a stamp - "TR-24/DT". The T stands for Taxco, the R for the maker, and the 24 indicating that this was the 24th smith with a surname starting with R to register in Taxco. A circular symbol is above this reads "Sterling" and contains an unidentified maker's mark. Size: 6.85" W x 3.6" H (17.4 cm x 9.1 cm); silver is sterling quality; 907 grams
