Description:

Near East, Islamic, Persia / Iran, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. An elegant steel sprinkler pitcher or ewer boasting intricate floral and geometric decoration highlighted by lustrous gilt details. Surmounted by a domed lid with a prominent, pointed finial, the vessel features a flared foot, a rotund body, a slender, elongated neck, and an annular rim. The gracefully arching handle extends from one side of the rim, curving upwards near the bottom to end in a flower-shaped terminal, while a tapering spout stretches upward from the body on the opposite side. Size: 8.3" W x 12.9" H (21.1 cm x 32.8 cm)

  • Condition: Loosening to lid hinge causing slight wobble. Minor chip to tip of lid finial. Light surface wear with some abrasions. Otherwise, intact and excellent with nice remaining gilding and details. Rich patina throughout.
