Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, Northern Washington state to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Nootka or Makah tribes, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A woven reed basketry jar with a discoid lid that fits snugly around the rim. The exterior displays faint green and red pigment, and the interior of the vessel clearly displays a myriad of stylized purple birds as well as a brown figure inside of a red canoe. The underside of the lid is adorned with a yellow sun bearing black rays radiating from around the circumference, and the lid rim is colored in a seafoam green hue. Size (w/ lid): 4.125" W x 2.7" H (10.5 cm x 6.9 cm)
