Description:

West Africa, southern Nigeria, Kingdom of Benin, Edo people, ca. 20th century CE. A cylindrical arm cuff formed from a cast-bronze sheet that is hammered into form. Both ends bear flared rims while the top of the cuff tapers slightly. Panels of linear motifs surround panels adorned with arching gateways and intricate bars. Great patina covers all surfaces of this accessory. Size: 4.5" W x 7.875" H (11.4 cm x 20 cm)
