Native American, southwestern United States, Navajo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE, signed by Thomas Tso (Native American, Dine / Navajo). A stylish sterling silver and turquoise concha belt with a leather band made by the silversmith Thomas Tso. His initials "TT" are stamped on the verso of the belt buckle. Along the length are 12 medallions made from 92% to 93% silver with scalloped edges and Sleeping Beauty turquoise stones set in the center of each slightly convex face. Between each medallion are bowtie shaped silver ornaments. All silver pieces have a copper loop welded on the back for the leather strap to pass through. This belt is wearable as is with a pin buckle and multiple piercings through the leather to adjust the length. Size of leather band: 41.5" L x 0.5" W (105.4 cm x 1.3 cm); medallions: 1" L x .75" W (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm); silver quality: 92% to 93%
