Description:

North America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A gorgeous pottery candelabra of ornate form with 5 pineapple-shaped sconces; 1 at the center and 4 supported by serpentine arms that rise from the stem in S-shaped curves. All supported by a tripod base, each arm is lined on 2 sides with a series of applied florets, while yellow flowers blossom between the base of each. The remainder of the piece is enveloped in a verdant green glaze, granting it an oddly organic appearance, like some type of otherworldly vegetation. Size: 12.5" W x 24.25" H (31.8 cm x 61.6 cm)

Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, acquired between 1964 to mid-1990s
