Description:

Native American, Arctic region, probably Inuit, ca. mid 20th century CE. A charming stone carving of a hunter, shown crouched on hands and knees, wearing a polar-bear mantle over the top of the head. The figure also wears a leather quiver, attached via a leather strap that slides through a perforation drilled through the center of the body. The top of the quiver is decorated with navy blue and crimson glass seed beads. Wood, string, and feather arrows and bow fit neatly inside the quiver. The stone is a beautiful cream color with pinkish, grey, and yellow tinges. Incised on the lower leg is a signature, "Sun Arrow". Size: 7.35" W x 5.65" H (18.7 cm x 14.4 cm)
