Magna Graecia & Greece, ca. 5th to 1st century BCE. This lot includes two ancient silver coins: a silver Lefkada (Leucas) minted AR stater and an Illyria silver AR drachm. The Lefkada stater features a Pegasus flying left on the obverse, while the reverse displays a helmeted head of Athena facing left with a murex shell to the right. The Illyria drachm showcases a cow with a suckling calf facing right on the obverse, with an eagle above the inscription; the reverse is adorned with a double stellate pattern surrounded by an inscription. Size of Illyria drachm: 0.73" Diameter (1.9 cm); silver quality: 97%; weight: 3.3 grams; Size of Lefkada stater: 0.76" Diameter (1.9 cm); silver quality: 99%; weight: 7.1 grams
