Greco-Roman period, ca. 2nd century BCE to 1st century CE. A fabulous lot of three beautiful pieces. First, a pair of handsome carnelian intaglios, each in the form of a scarab, pierced laterally for suspension. One has an incised motif of a centaur; another a heroic nude male crouched and holding a long sword. Complementing these is a jasper cameo that features the head and neck of a woman with her hair up in a pretty coiffure. Size of largest (one of the scarabs): 0.55" W (1.4 cm)
