Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st century BCE to 2nd century CE. A fine pair of hollow cast high karat gold hoop earrings (89% gold, equivalent to 21K+), each nearly circular with smooth contours and a looped catch separated from the main part of the hoop by two loops of thin gold wire. Interestingly, the Romans invented the "hoop earring" which developed around 300 BCE. Yes even in antiquity, humans expressed their love, appreciation, and admiration with a shimmering bauble or two. So why not continue to embrace this longstanding tradition? Size of one: 0.55" W (1.4 cm); weight of both together: 1.4 grams
