Roman Empire, Imperial period, Eastern Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful jar free-blown from translucent, aubergine-hued glass to present an ovoid body with a tapered neck and conical spout, adorned with applied white feathering in horizontal streaks. Twin trail handles flank the spout, connecting the rounded shoulder to the broad rim, each ending in a decorative knob as a raised band of violet-colored trailing further adorns the flared rim. Size: 3" L x 3.9" W x 5.2" H (7.6 cm x 9.9 cm x 13.2 cm)
