Description:

Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast United States, Washington, Salish, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A lidded box handwoven from cedar root and dried bark using the imbricated technique to form the patterning of vertical multicolored checkered and stacked triangles. Imbricated weaving is an overlay of fibers folded over exterior stitches and not visible on the interior of the weaving. Size: 18" L x 10" W x 10.5" H (45.7 cm x 25.4 cm x 26.7 cm)
