East Asia, Korea, ca. 19th century CE. A gorgeous and beautifully preserved blue-on-white porcelain jar. It has a columnar lower body that broadens suddenly before narrowing again to a corseted neck and a flaring mouth with unpronounced rim. The sides are painted with a large motif of a phoenix that flies around body, also decorated with elegant cloud motifs. Size: 4.05" W x 5.35" H (10.3 cm x 13.6 cm)
