Description:

Western Europe, Germany, Solingen, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A German made naval sword, made for parade and presentation with an ornate blade and the original leather and brass scabbard. The blade is straight and single edged, with anchor, ship, and floral motifs engraved halfway down the length and the ricasso is marked "E. & F. Horster / Solingen". The brass hilt contains a curving knuckle guard and octagonal langet panels over the leather grip. Included is the leather sheath with brass ring fittings and chape. Size in sheath: 37.5" L x 3.75" W (95.2 cm x 9.5 cm); blade: 30" L x 1.125" W (76.2 cm x 2.9 cm)
