Description:

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A wonderful wooden box comprised of double doors that open to a red-painted interior adorned with 3 gold-colored medallions of phoenixes. The doors feature 2 rectangular windows of openwork, lattice pattern, while the exterior is painted with a pair of figures. Additional bands of relief floral, meander, and vegetal motifs embellish interior top and exterior bottom. A pair of glass shelves can be seen on the interior. Size: 5.9" L x 12.5" W x 18" H (15 cm x 31.8 cm x 45.7 cm)

Two glass panels and knobs for shelves on interior, though one knob is missing. Otherwise, excellent with nice remaining painted imagery.
