East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A beautiful oil lamp with a lacquered wood stand and a porcelain bowl, intended for use on an altar. The wood is lacquered in red, with gold gilt remaining on the flower at the column base and the finial with openwork figures. The classical blue-on white bowl has a scrolling foliate and floral motif, the bowl removable from the wire ring for cleaning and refilling. Size: 6.75" Diameter x 13.75" H (17.1 cm x 34.9 cm)
