Latin America, South America, Argentina, ca. 19th to mid-20th century CE. A lovely pair of leather stirrups, each adorned with petite brass buttons throughout. Each stirrup presents in the openwork form of a bell with a rounded foot platform and narrow roller attached a lengthy strip of stirrup leather surmounted by an iron ring for attachment to the saddle. Size (similar in size): 18.2" L x 6.5" W (46.2 cm x 16.5 cm)

Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's

  • Condition: One stirrup has repair to upper part of stirrup leather on one side. Both have expected surface wear with natural stable surface fissures from age and wear. Otherwise, both are excellent with deep patina and nicely preserved brass decoration.
