Description:

North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A fine side knife used on the American frontier with a handle carved from a curved section of deer antler wrapped near its base in thin gold wire. The forged-steel blade features a single edge opposite a thick spine as well as a shallow curve just in front of the point, and a stocky brass hand guard sports a pair of protruding quillons. Nice patina has formed across both the blade and handle to make this an attractive example of early American weaponry! Size: 2.15" W x 20.55" H (5.5 cm x 52.2 cm)
