Description:

Native American, Western United States, Plains tribes, perhaps Crow or Cheyenne, ca. 1920s to 1950s CE. A pair of beaded moccasins with a strap and button rather than the usual tongue and lace style, somewhat resembling a ballet slipper. The low-cut opening is trimmed with cotton fabric, but the leather is completely covered with tiny seed beads, primarily in Cheyenne pink with geometric shapes. Both appear to have soles made from leather that may have been scraps or repurposed to fit these shoes. Size: 9.5" L x 4" W (24.1 cm x 10.2 cm)
