A stunning ceramic vase by Rookwood artist Irene Bishop that reflects the Arts and Crafts Movement's admiration for nature-inspired motifs! Size: 2.875" in diameter x 5.7" H (7.3 cm x 14.5 cm)

The Rookwood Pottery Company was founded in 1880 by the artist Maria Longworth-Nichols who created a world-renowned ceramic studio in Cincinnati, Ohio that attracted many reputable artists and ceramicists. A native Coloradan, Irene Bishop studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Art Students League and worked at Rookwood from 1900 until 1909. Interestingly, Irene married another Rookwood artist, Edward Hurley, in 1907. Following her years with Rookwood, Irene continued her artistic career as a miniature painter.
